All glories to you What-is-not
Hovering by my side,
Leading me down the path of lust,
My eternal friend and guide.

All glories to you What-is-not
When I chant Krishna’s name,
You steal my mind and make me think
Of wealth and worldly fame.

All glories to you What-is-not
I’m always trying to hide
My inner flaws and weaknesses,
It hurts my swollen pride.

All glories to you What-is-not
I love to criticize,
My ego’s always finding fault,
Is this virtue or vice?

All glories to you What-is-not
From you I’d like to know,
Why I feel hate and burning rage,
When others’ fortunes grow!

All glories to you What-is-not
I feel a sense of shame,
Being humble and a servitor,
For this is God to blame?

All glories to you What-is-not
You’ve promised me Godhood,
I’ve failed, yet you say, “Try again”!
I’m trying, but it’s no good!

All glories to you What-is-not
My vows I try to keep,
But you make me forget Krishna,
And soon I’m sound asleep!
