TRIBUTE TO HIS HOLINESS NARMADA SWAMI

Dear Sir,
I am deeply shocked to learn about the sad departure of our beloved His Holiness Narmada Swami Maharaja, who left this world after Srila Prabhupada's disappearance day. I was fortunate to have very close and personal relations with him since 1983. He brought me to ISKCON. During 1984 to 1998 we exchanged hundreds of letters. He was really a very learned man and had very good knowledge of all the Puranas.

It is a great loss to the BBT. I pray to Lord Sri Krsna to give this noble soul place in His own loka which he rightly deserves.

TORN BETWEEN THE GODS

I really want to adopt Krsna consciousness in my life. However, since childhood I have been a devotee of Lord Siva and I feel I'm separated between the gods. One is a Supreme Personality of Godhead and the other is someone whom I treat as my father. Please help me out.

Our Reply:  Since you are a devotee of Lord Siva, you can learn from his devotion to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Krsna, Lord Rama, and Lord Visnu. Lord Siva is glorified as the greatest Vaisnava because he is always meditating on Lord Visnu in His different forms. You can follow in his footsteps and also always think of Lord Visnu. You can also read the many great prayers that Lord Siva offers to the Supreme Lord in the Srimad-Bhagavatam, Canto 4, Chapter 24, entitled "Chanting the Song Sung by Lord Siva." You can consider how pleased Lord Siva will be if you develop devotion for the Supreme Lord. In fact, Lord Siva is the origin of a sampradaya, or spiritual lineage, dedicated to promoting bhakti to Visnu , called the Rudra or Visnusvami sampradaya.
