What inspires you in Bhagavad Gita As It Is ?

DURING THE COURSE OF life we love our family, friends, and dear ones. Our love towards them finds external expression in various ways and we tend to serve them from our hearts and souls. But, gradually we realize that all we do for them with so much devotion is indeed very temporary.

If one finds the same love and devotion for Krsna and executes every action and every step  towards Him, then each step is a blessing, a wonder, a great boon, and an overwhelming experience. Because Krsna says in the Bhagavad gita, "If one offers me a flower, a  fruit or water, I will accept it." (B.g. 9.26) You take one step towards Krsna with love and devotion; He takes so many towards you. Much unlike what we see in people of this material world.

When the seed of devotion gets embedded in the heart, it is for the individual to nurture it for the love  of Godhead. Love and devotion for Krsna bring ultimate joy and ecstasy which is an inner experience.

THE DEVOTEES OF THE Lord are released from all kinds of sins because they eat food which is offered first for sacrifice. Others, who prepare food for personal sense enjoyment, verily eat only sin. (Bhagavad gita 3.13) It is a special verse because it  covers a very basic thing. Lots of people think that they are sinless, but they do not know that if they eat food without offering it to Krsna then it is a great sin. Now I never try to commit this sin and always try to alert others with the help of this verse. This verse has done miracles in my life. Now whatever I eat I first offer to Krsna. So earlier I would eat breakfast, lunch or dinner but now I always have Krsna prasada. I offer others Krsna prasada. I am saving myself and my family from this greatest sin of not offering food, fruits, sweets etc., in the services of the Lord. Now I feel as if I am living in a temple because I honour Krsna prasada as my daily food.

WHEN WE GET SICK the doctor assures us, "Don't worry, you will be cured." Although we know that the doctor will cut our body and operate and the results are never sure, surprisingy, we still surrender our body to him.

In Bhagavad gita, 18.66, it is no ordinary doctor but the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Krsna, who personally assures us: "Don't fear, abandon all varieties of religion and surrender unto Me." But we fear. All we need is faith and trust in the words and protection of the Lord and that will help us to take the leap.

MIND IS RESTLESS, turbulent, obstinate, and verystrong, and even for a person like Arjuna, (what to speak of ordinary persons like us) controlling the mind is more arduous task then  controlling the raging wind. We wordly people are always suffering from problems related to the mind. The Supreme Lord Krsna, acknowledges the problem presented by Arjuna and through the teachings of Bhagavad gita He also solves it. He teaches that the mind can be controlled by suitable practice and detachment. (Bg. 6.35) So we should always practice chanting the Hare Krrsna mahamantra and absorb our mind in the loving devotional service of the Lord. Only then we will finally be able to control the restless, turbulent, obstinate, and strong mind.
